This day am on to tell them how malwares work behave and of course constructed! "There’s hardly any difference between a good code and a bad one. For instance the format command would certainly wipe out the contents of a drive so would a malicious code. The difference probably lies in the objectives, they way it is initiated, the way a bad code hides itself and infects/propagates! .... People these days have come up with some new sexy forms of code. One interesting form would be the Rootkits. If anyone has seen the movie Matrix there’s this guy, Morpheus and Neo. Neo is entangled in the Maya .. controlled by machines! Morpheus is not! Neo gets a chance .. everyone does get a chance to make a choice.. to move out of the matrix. Morpheus gives him 2 pills, the red one would take Neo back to the Maya from where he wont ever come back .. the blue would take him out of the matrix helping him realize the bigger whole. The point is am not trying to show you the matrix!

Imagine for a moment, about the systems you work with everyday! Any system Linux/Windows/Unix any damn thing is not built as a whole but of components with huge dependencies segregated into layers. Lets take the windows machine .. you try clicking on notepad.exe .. is it the only thing that runs .. probably no .. there are n calls to n functions which lie deep in the kernel! .. Any code run on top of the OS would call routines dependent on it .. i.e all activity will/and is intercepted by modules in the lower layers.

But if we have a Innocent CODE which becomes Morpheus and injects itself below the OS thus taking the operating system into the matrix .. thereby intercepting everything that happens above .. Putting it simply .. in case you have an antivirus which is trying to scan .. all calls made to the lower layers would actually pass on through you BAD code ... that’s rootkits i guess :) .............."

and that is how my session moves on till am interrupted, by this guy, Patrick, old mathematically but to me is a perfect kid. Manager of a reputed firm! He says "Biswajit, hey man c'mon why do you want to take us into Maya and philoshopy ... u want me to read ... hey man let us remain kids .." Silence interrupted all start smiling .. so do i .. hehehehehe

We have come close .. even after 8 hrs of talk ... towards late evening .. we walk out on the roads of Park Street, get into Cafe CD .. sit .. he opens up so do i .. and the talk runs long .. He's married with 2 kids .. and talks of how interesting and boring is it to get married and have a family ... Job definitely takes you places .. but meeting people from different cultures .. seeing it their way .. living walking and running with them .. is something which might teach you things never taught in any school!
